Hello everyone!
I come from Germany and live about 70 kilometers from Frankfurt am Main.
I’m 61 years young! 😉
I’m at home in rock music, funk, soul and POP, but basically I like all kinds of music. Well, I don’t really like German brass music and German pop music, they give me ear cancer.
I’ve already taken lessons from 5 online teachers and none of them have really helped me. Since I play more than one instrument and have a classical education, I don’t really need all the basics.
But I want to become more relaxed with my fingers on the piano and will learn more over time and the entire keyboard. I’m most interested in technical playing techniques on the piano, keyboard or organ. There are so-called rools, for example, but I’m also interested in fingerings, because I haven’t found anything on these topics yet.
Every keyboard is different, so synthesizers in particular can be played in very different ways. I’m looking for tips and haven’t found anything yet.
I compose myself and am therefore not interested in playing other people’s songs. But in order to get better at composing, my goal is to become more relaxed on the keys.
I have something very special in mind with the music I write. It’s about having fun playing the piano, I’ve always wanted to, but I’m more interested in using music to convey something.
If you’re interested, I’d write more about what exactly I want to convey.
But so that I don’t have to do everything alone, I’m looking for other musicians who would like to take part in a project. Nowadays, you don’t have to be in the same room together. There are ways to work together over the Internet.
At the moment I play all the instruments myself and sing, but it doesn’t have to stay that way and it shouldn’t.
In addition to music, I also have a sound engineering qualification and a small home studio.
So that was a bit long and I’ll stop telling you more for now.
Now I’m excited to see who I’ll meet here and what the course can achieve.
Kind musical greetings
Dimugi (Dirk)

I am from the United States, 82 years old, and love many genre’s of music, including Classical, Pop, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Native American, Taiwanese Folk songs, etc. I signed up because Marine told be about the Hammond B3-X organ app and she gives tutorials on the Hammond organ. I prefer the organ over simply playing the piano.

Hi Marine,
1) I live in Bavaria, Germany.
2) I am 61 years old. When I was young I played Guitar and Bass Guitar in several bands.
3) My favourite music is Blues, Blues and Blues 😉 and some Hard Rock.
I grew up with Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and Barclay James Harvest, just to name some of my „influencers“
4) I already attended to other piano schools online, each for one year. They did not convince me.
The Concept of ORL seems to be much better. I started the beginners chapter in order to learn from scratch.
5) I want to play the Hammond Organ in the style of Jon Lord, which will be very challenging. But learning piano as the fundamental prerequisite is absolutely fine for me.
My Equipment is a Roland FP30 with hammer weighted action and a Yamaha CK61 with a great Hammond simulation.

Where are you from?: I’m from the Boston area in the US.
How old are you?: I’m 63 years old.
Your favorite style of music: I like Americana (blues, folk, country, rock), and even play around with cajun and zydeco (and other New Orleans/Louisiana styles).
Why did you sign up?: I recently purchased a Hammond Sk2 dual-keyboard electronic organ, and wanted to learn how to play it.
What is your #1 piano and keyboards goal?: I’d like to become functional on the Hammond organ.
I’d love to become proficient, but I’ll settle for functional. I’ll also settle for being able to play piano at the same level as I currently play acoustic guitar when accompanying myself as a singer/songwriter.
I started on acoustic guitar, but when I started playing in bands it was as the bass player (acoustic and electric upright basses, and fretted and fretless electric basses). I am fairly functional on acoustic and electric guitar. Finally, I sing lead and harmony vocals in many of the bands I’ve played in.

I also have a Yamaha digital piano (fully weighted keys, nice piano sounds, great for practicing piano lessons). I intend to use this digital piano to do most of the piano work, and the Hammond Sk2 when I’m ready to start the organ lessons.

4. Why did you sign up for Online Rock Lessons?
5. What is your #1 piano & keyboards goal?
