  Practice without instrument

  Halo!

  My work requires a lot of traveling. I take my instrument with me as much as possible, but sometimes it is NO-GO.

  Can somebody suggest any kind of exercise for practicing playing piano without instrument?

  Hi Daniel

  My wife and I travel a lot as well. We I am away from my keyboard, here is what I came up with:

  – I study theory and journal the reading , same as practice journal.

  – use Band In a Box combined with a keyboard app on my iPad. With this,I can practice leads and improvisation.

  The keyboard app also lets me work on ear training…humm a melody, play the melody…

    Hi, Thanks for an idea!

    I am also studying music theory when I am away from my instrument, but I never used Band In a Box before..

    I am also performing some finger exercises on table – for example playing scales or thrills.
